Callum Hudson-Odoi sends Chelsea fans injury update as he steps up recovery

Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed Blues fans encouraging news, posting an update that his ‘recovery is going well’ as he fights back from an Achilles injury.

The England international saw his breakthrough season cut short during a 2-2 draw against Burnley in April.

The 18-year-old, who earned a start for the Three Lions before making his full Premier League debut, had finally become a starter under Maurizio Sarri before having to undergo surgery following the injury.

Alongside fellow Chelsea prospect Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who suffered the same injury during a post-season friendly in May, Hudson-Odoi has been working hard at the Blues’ Cobham training ground as both look to get back to full fitness ahead of the new season.

While most Chelsea fans are waiting anxiously for the appointment of Frank Lampard as the new manager, Hudson-Odoi was able to provide some good news.

The winger tweeted a video of him working away with a Chelsea coach at the training ground, with the caption: “Recovery is going well, I hope to be back on the pitch soon, let’s go!!”

With the club currently under a Fifa transfer ban, against which they are appealing, the likes of Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek will be vital to the new manager should they be able to keep fit come the new season.
