What a week it has been for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The winger has been out of action since last season and has spent the summer months mounting his recovery as he looks to kick on under Frank Lampard.
Months of rehabilitation and on-field training led him to feature for the under-23s, before making his comeback appearance midweek against Grimsby Town.
Hudson-Odoi played the full 90 minutes of that game meaning that he was never likely to be ready to start against Brighton in the Premier League.
However the 18-year-old did make an appearance as a second half substitute and made quite an impression.
Hudson-Odoi was responsible for setting up Chelsea's second goal of the game as his powerful run saw the ball fall to Willian who way able to convert at the near post due to a deflection.
The winger was clearly delighted to be back in to the swing of things at Stamford Bridge and took to Instagram to share his delight.
He posted: "Big 3 points today!! Great team performance and happy to contribute with an assist."
The challenge for Callum Hudson-Odoi will be to secure a place in Frank Lampard's starting line-up, starting with Wednesday's Champions League clash with Lille.
