Callum Hudson-Odoi drops major hint over Champions League role

Callum Hudson-Odoi is soon to make his long awaited return from injury.

The Chelsea youngster has been out of action since rupturing his Achilles tendon in the 2-2 draw with Burnley at the end of last season.

The 18-year-old had just made his breakthrough into the first team at Stamford Bridge, but has spent the whole of the summer undergoing rehabilitation in a bid to be fit as soon as possible.

Hudson-Odoi returned to full training over the international break and made his first appearance of the season for the U23s just a few days ago, playing 61 minutes of the match.

When asked if the forward was ready to play for the first team against Valencia, Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard seemed to rule out the possibility.

"Callum is getting extra work in, along with Reece and they may have another game in the U23s before first team action," he said.
