Calls are being made for council bosses and police to tackle issues surrounding "confusing" speed limits at a Bishopton housing estate.
Councillor James MacLaren is urging Renfrewshire Council and Renfrewshire police officers to take action and resolve the issues of different speed limits currently in place in Dargavel, Bishopton.
The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Councillor has received constant complaints from local residents that Slateford Road has a speed limit of 20mph, but Barrangary Road has one set at 30 mph.
Councillor MacLaren says the situation is ridiculous, with a need for clear and consistent signage for those living and travelling in the area.
Council officials say they are working closely with BAE systems, but that it is a condition of the traffic regulation order that calming works are completed prior to the implementation of a standard 20mph speed limit.

Councillor MacLaren has now raised the matter with local police officers highlighting that the new Dargavel Primary which will finally open in January, will open without a lower speed limit in place, after being advised by BAE that the calming works were unlikely to complete until late January.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist Councillor James MacLaren said: “This is a ridiculous and potentially dangerous situation. I cannot believe local residents have continued to endure one entrance having a 30mph speed limit and the other entrance having a 20mph.
“It is creating confusion for motorists and it is little wonder that local residents are angry. Clear and consistent signage and speed limits are absolutely vital for keeping people safe.
“Council officials and local police must work closely with BAE systems to get this sorted as a matter of urgency. It would be completely unacceptable if the new Dargavel Primary School opens up without a standard 20mph limit throughout this family focussed development.
“Pupils must have a safe walking environment to school which could be achieved by amending this speed limit now.
“Residents concerns must be listened to immediately and I will be continuing to push for consistent speed limits to be in place in Dargavel now."
Alan Hoyle, chairman of the Dargavel residents association added: “Residents and visitors are confused by the inconsistent speed signage and there have been numerous close misses. How is a parent to explain to their child that cars from one direction travel faster than the other?
“To have allowed Dargavel to develop to its current size with this ridiculous concept is poor planning and the 20mph speed limit should be implemented immediately.”
Cllr MacLaren raised this during a Renfrewshire Council's Police and Fire and Rescue Scrutiny Sub Committee, with Police Scotland confirming work would be carried out to address the issue.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "I have spoken personally with Michelle Mooney, who is out traffic management so it seems like there is work that needs to be done in relation to the engineering of the road in order for it to be given the 20mph limit.
"That will inevitably happen. Michelle is away on COP26 just now but she is returning soon and she is going to do another site visit once she returns."
