Calls are being made for better signs to be installed after a number of cars were left stranded driving into flood water near a Nottinghamshire ford.
The Rufford ford regularly floods onto Rufford Lane, close to Rufford Abbey Country Park, after heavy spells of rainfall.
Vehicles were submerged in the water after driving along the road on Sunday morning (September 29).
One of the cars that got stuck in the flood water was a D&G taxi.
A spokesman for the taxi firm told Nottinghamshire Live: "The area is a dangerous place to drive when rainfall is heavy.
"From our perspective, we would like to see more warning and signs in place going forward before it gets that deep.
"The driver is okay and we've got the taxi back. There's no idea what state it is in yet. I think it's something that should be addressed and I hope those in charge of the roads can take this on board."
The Environment Agency has warned that just 30cm of flood water could lift a car's tyres off the road and sweep it away.
A spokesman added: "There are currently four flood alerts affecting the county, with two in North Nottinghamshire on the River Maun and River Idle. The other two alerts are on the River Trent on the Lincolnshire border near Torksey and Gainsborough.
"These alerts are likely to only affect low lying fields and possibly some roads.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and work with partners, especially as heavy rain is forecast for later today.
"We would encourage the public to sign up for free flood warnings at www.gov.uk/sign-up-for-flood-warnings and not to risk driving through flood water.
“Driving through flood water is never a good idea as just 30cm of flood water could lift the tyres off the road and sweep the car along with the flow of water.
"Apart from the risks of damage to the car and putting passengers in danger it can also use up the resources of the emergency services when they could be busy elsewhere with flooding incidents.”
Nottinghamshire County Council has been contacted for comment on the signs, flooding and cars getting stuck in the ford.
