Callous yob threw dog out of van window and abandoned it by side of Scots road

A callous driver threw a dog out of a van window and left it on the side of a Scots road before driving off.

The incident occurred on the A77 near Innermessan in Stranraer at around 3.50pm on Thursday August 26.

A member of the public saw it happen and got in touch with Police Scotland to report what had happened.

The van was a white coloured Ford Transit with black tinted windows but its registration number remains unknown.

Officers attended the scene and uplifted the dog which they took to the local veterinary centre to ensure it was safe.

The dog is currently residing within Stranraer Police Station for the time being until a more suitable home for it is found.

Police are now asking anyone who has seen the van described within the area at the day and time mentioned to come forward.

Anyone with any dash-cam footage that may help is also asked to get in touch with the officers at Stranraer Police Station.
