Callous thieves steal defibrillator in city centre - police want to speak to these two

Police have issued images of people they want to speak to after a defibrillator was stolen in the city centre.

Officers said the device was stolen in the First Street area on Wednesday, 8 December.

CCTV images of a man and a woman were issued with an appeal for help identifying them.

It is the second appeal to find a stolen defibrillator from GMP in as many weeks.

In the early hours of New Years Day another was stolen from an ambulance as paramedics were attending an incident in Oldham.

Defibrillators are vital pieces of equipment which can save a person's life in the event of an emergency.

And they should also only used by those with the correct training.

The device stolen in Oldham was returned after it was spotted by a member of the public dumped by the roadside.

In a tweet, GMP city centre gave contact details for anyone with information about the theft on First Street.

"Appeal - Can you help us identify these people?" it read.

"We’d like to speak to them in relation to theft of a defibrillator, on First Street on Wednesday 8th December 2021.

"If you’ve any information, please contact us on 0161 856 1930 or GMP Live Chat quoting log 2496 08/12/21. Sgt K"
