A bizarre listing appeared at the high court 10 days ago: "Miscellaneous v Miscellaneous." The admiralty, commercial and London mercantile court hearing took place before Judge David Mackie on 5 September.
The case, which concerned a shipping owner and another company, related to the shipment of a cargo. But the judge, lawyers and court officials couldn't explain why the hearing was listed in such a fashion.
"No case should be listed like that," said a Liberal Democrat MP who campaigns for open justice, John Hemming, adding with due understatement: "Sometimes a bit of information helps."
