Pet lovers should mark their calendars for the "We Love Pets" fair, which will be back with more fun and excitement at CentralPlaza Rama 2, Rama II Road, this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 8pm.
Organised by Versele-laga by Pamornchai Supply in collaboration with the Embassy of Belgium, Chulabhorn Royal Academy and a group of veterinary medicine lecturers, the 10th edition of the pet fair will see a thousand pet animals filling the Rama 2 Hall on the 4th floor of the shopping mall.
They include adorable and colourful birds of various breeds namely forpus, rose–ringed parakeet, budgerigar, Gouldian finch, zebra finch, lovebird, sun conure, African grey parrot, cockatoo, macaw; as well as cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters and ferrets.
There will be many competitions with a string of prizes up for grabs, in line with this year's theme "Treasure Hunt Journey".
They include the "Grand Flight Tour Thailand 2022" on Saturday which will offer cash prizes worth 150,000 baht in total to winning bird trainers, and the "Thailand Grand Flight Championship 2022" bird racing on Sunday with a trophy from HRH Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana for the top winner.
Another highlight will be the "Forpus Contest" presented by Forpus Studio on Sunday. It will offer the "Best in Show" trophy from the Embassy of Belgium.
Other activities include a fancy costume contest where pets and their owners will put on the fanciest costumes and strut their stuff on the runway to vie for big prizes, a bird caring and training demonstration, and a talk session on pet healthcare by professionals.
Adding more colours to the event will be the show-up of celebrities such as Willy Mcintosh, Kiattisak Udomnak aka Sena Hoi and Thana "Oil" Suttikamol on Saturday.
Health check-up services by veterinarians will also be available, free of charge.
There is no admission fee. All proceeds from the fair will be donated to Rajavithi Hospital Foundation.
