Calling all early birds - There's a new 'sunrise' running club started in Glasgow

Are you up at the crack of dawn during the summer months with the sun shining in through your bedroom blinds?

Well if you are, we might have found the perfect excuse to get you out of your bed and into those running trainers to kick start the day while everyone else is in snooze-ville.

That's because there's a new running club started in Glasgow, which meets 10 minutes prior to the sunrise for folk to get moving and enjoy the sun coming up alongside it.

Sunrise Running Club, which started in May, meets every Friday morning at Maxwell Park in the southside of the city (at the corner of St. Andrew's Drive and Dalziel Drive).

The club meets at the corner of St. Andrew's Drive and Dalziel Drive every Friday (Google Maps)

And with the idea of helping folk to 'experience the health benefits of movement, nature, sunrise and community', those who join in can choose to either walk, jog or run to enjoy the piece and tranquility of the early morning.

A perfect idea is you ask us for folk to have an early blether and unlock lots of energy for Friday.

And you can always go back for a wee siesta before work!
