Calling all customer care innovators

As part of the quest to uncover the UK's most innovative organisations and people, the judges are looking for examples of companies using technology to take customer service to new heights. From top class service on Twitter, through to using the most cutting edge technology to provide customers with a truly personal contact centre service, Innovation Nation is after truly inspirational examples of better service.

Of course the rise of smartphones and the continued improvement to mobile connectivity has meant that customers no longer have to be at their desks or on their home phone to engage with organisations. They can now have an experience with an organisation anywhere at any time. This is something businesses have been looking to get involved with, providing new ways of interacting with customers and delivering quality services across a variety of different channels.

But with added opportunity comes increased responsibility. Our research shows that customer care and engagement is now the number one reason for businesses to use social networking sites. Forget trying to amplify your brand awareness or push the latest product, customer service has shown to be nearly twice as important as other activity. Whilst of course it's good to interact and share content, organisations should definitely be aware that wherever you are, whether on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, email or the phone, customers will expect a level of service from you.

We started our own Twitter feed to meet this customer service demand head on and we currently have over 2,000 people following. On top of this we're responding to the many interactions we have from customers on a daily basis. But we're not by any means the only company doing this, and social media is by no means the only way to communicate effectively with customers and the public.

We want examples of how companies are interacting with customers in new ways and making sure that if they've started something, they've built upon it and developed something really clever that is bringing true value to the business.

So what has your business done to revolutionise the way it deals with customers? Do you have any customers who are now true ambassadors of your brand following this revolution? Now is the time to have your project recognised and show the world just how you go above and beyond for every single customer. Enter Innovation Nation now and wow our judges with your creativity.
