Callahan says that Case Keenum will start if he’s healthy this week

Washington quarterback Case Keenum left Thursday’s game at half time and was placed under the concussion protocol, leaving rookie QB Dwayne Haskins to get some reps and attempt to bring the Redskins back into the game against the Minnesota Vikings.

It didn’t go well, but that doesn’t mean it was a wasted effort. Going forward, with the season already lost, the Redskins would be smart to give the rookie as many reps as possible, further evaluating him before the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, it seems that interim coach Bill Callahan has other plans, and he is still trying to win games.

Should Keenum fail to be released from the protocol, Haskins will start next week against the Buffalo Bills, and it will possibly kick off his era as the quarterback for Washington, or at least show everyone what he’s made of.
