The Federation of State Employees and Teachers Organisations (FSETO) have demanded the State government to permit the surrender and encashment of earned leave by employees and teachers. The government had deferred earned leave surrender in 2021 citing the financial constraints caused by the pandemic. In a recent order, the government deferred it till June 30 this year for all categories of employees, except class four and part-time staff. FSETO general secretary M. A. Ajith Kumar and president N. T. Sivarajan termed the decision unfair and urged the government to reinstate the benefit.
