Call the police if you see this man in Kirkby town centre

A prolific shoplifter has been banned from entering two areas in Kirkby.

David Anthony Wilson has been issued with a two-year ban for a string of shoplifting offences. The 34-year-old, of Cawthorne Avenue, Southdene, Kirkby, was issued the Criminal Behaviour Order at Liverpool Magistrates Court last week.

Under the order he is banned from entering two areas in Kirkby. They are Kirkby town centre, bounded by and including Webster Drive, from the junction with St Chad's Drive to Cherryfield Drive, Hall Lane, County Road and Irlam Drive.

The second area is Copple House Lane, Moor Lane, Hawksmoor Road including Aldi Shopping Complex, Alscot Avenue including Tesco Express on Glovers Brow in Kirkby.

Community Policing Inspector Andrew Robinson said: “Thefts from businesses is not a victimless crime as the cost incurred is passed on to the consumer. This order will provide welcome relief to local businesses and should he breach this order he will be arrested and possibly imprisoned.”
