Call The Midwife series finale teaser sparks concern from fans as they predict tragic outcome

Fans were sent into a state of concern and further speculating what will happen in Sunday's tense Call The Midwife finale, thanks to a tweet sent from the show's official account.

The terrified faces of the Sister and Doctor as the train hurtled out of control quickly became ingrained in the minds of those who tuned into the show, with its fraught final moments becoming the number one topic on Twitter as credits rolled.

And, with just hours to go until Sunday's series finale, the Call the Midwife account posted a picture, with an ominous sounding caption, that quickly sparked a reaction from fans.

Commenting underneath, one concerned fan wrote: "This suggests sister julienne, if it said 'how would poplar survive' I'd of swayed to the doc.

"She and Dr Turner are missing I was convinced undiagnosed head injury for nurse corrigon would be the casualty... hurry up 8pm."

A second reacted: "Not ready for this tonight but I wonder is there significance the chair at the table is empty? Sister Julienne."

Predicting the finale will be full of tragedy, a third tweeted: "I’m already worried about someone dying in it!"

And, clearly well stocked up on tissues in preparation, another commented: "I'm not ready either. Got plenty of tissues ready..."
