Call of Duty: Warzone update lets you battle up to 200 players in a single match

Call of Duty: Warzone has released a huge update this morning that lets you battle up to 200 players in a single match.

Season 4 of Modern Warfare, including Warzone, was updated at 07:00 BST today.

Activision, the developer behind the game, said: “With this update, Verdansk will now be able to hold up to 200 players in Battle Royale Quads. That means 50 Quads of Operators fighting each other and the encroaching circle collapse.

“This new player count makes Warzone an even bigger Battle Royale experience, so get ready to drop in alongside 199 other members of this millions-strong community to cause havoc!”

While many Call of Duty fans will be eager to get their hands on the update, it may take you a while to download it.

Activation explained: “Please note that the Season Four Reloaded update will have a download size of approximately 22-36 GB for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare.

“Console owners must install a secondary download of approximately 3.5GB, then reboot the game to access Multiplayer, if desired.

“Existing free-to-play Warzone players will have a download size of approximately 22GB-30GB, once finished there will be a reduction to the overall footprint on their machines.”

Unsurprisingly, many players are slightly miffed at the huge download size, with many taking to Twitter to discuss it this morning.

One user said: “35.75 gb update. Game has been out for about 9 months and still, download speed is 500Kb/s on average. I thought it was a temporary thing when warzone came out in March because of the traffic, but this is ridiculous I'm afraid. This will take like 2 days to download.”

Another added: “Call of Duty: Warzone will soon support 200 player matches. One for every gigabyte of hard drive space needed to download the game when the update goes live.”

And one joked: “Id be a millionaire if I had a pound for every time Call of Duty Warzone asks me to download another 30GB update…”
