The latest instalment in the hugely successful Call of Duty franchise is out for release in a matter of days.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is a reimagined version of the 2007 game of the same name. It was heralded a modern classic upon its release 12 years ago and launched new ground for developers Activision.
The 2019 version will likely contain more of the same content that made the groundbreaking original such a landmark title in the first-person shooter (FPS) genre, and anticipation among gamers is sky-high.

The game is set for release worldwide on Friday, October 25.
However, you can pre-order the game ahead of its official release date.

A statement online says the game will be fully optimised for PC, available through Battle.net.
What's new in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?
Essentially a reboot of 2007's Modern Warfare, the storyline is based in the 21st century and promises to be more realistic than other games in the franchise, featuring improved strategic, emotional and tactical gameplay.
In particular, the game's plot has seen a significant overhaul from recent Call of Duty titles, with features such as zombies and jetpacks declining to make an appearance this time. Instead, there is more of a focus on realism to make for a much more mature game.
More character-based than previous games, Modern Warfare sees the return of faces such as Captain John Price, a crucial character in the series. The game will also have a single-player campaign as well as multi-player action.
The game has seen a complete weapon overhaul too, featuring the most choices in the franchise's history, while the traditional season pass has been scrapped.
Perhaps the biggest change, however, is the introduction of cross-platform functionality for the first time in the franchise. This means gamers on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One can play simultaneously.
