A new Call of Duty game is almost here, with early access to the single-player campaign already live for those who have pre-ordered the game. Still, the multiplayer mode is where the meat of the game lies for most people, and that’s a while away yet. We’ll tell you exactly when the pre-loads go live on each platform, as it’s a big game and you need to be ready for launch day.
On top of that, we’ll tell you when the full game unlocks worldwide, so you can prepare with whatever launch day rituals you perform.
COD MW2 pre-load times

Pre-loads for the full game go live at different times for console and PC players. On console, you can start pre-loading on Friday October 21 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BST/7pm CEST. On PC the pre-loads will go live on Wednesday October 26 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BST/7pm CEST. If you’re on consoles then your pre-load should start automatically, but you can start it manually by selecting the game on the home menu. On PC, you’ll need to manually click the “pre-load” button on Steam or BattleNet.
COD MW2 release times

Thankfully, there is no difference between the release times on consoles or PC, everything will be going live simultaneously worldwide. The time and date to set in your diaries is Friday October 28 at midnight ET/5am BST/6am CEST. However, that means that if you’re on Pacific time, it will unlock on Thursday night at 9pm PT.
