Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update content, release date, size and more

Activision has released more details on what Season 4 Reloaded will have in store for fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Classic maps and brand new intense game modes are being introduced into the multiplayer while Warzone receives some new weapons.

Here's everything you can expect from the update - and when it is expected to drop.

Multiplayer paintball and weapon blueprints

Paintball is coming to Call of Duty with the new Rush map, a remaster from Black Ops 2 Vengeance DLC, this map is a 6v6 that takes place in a paintball course.

Players will have to engage face-to-face in close combat by navigating around the narrow choke zones- for those who favour long-range combat, there will be some exterior structures perfect for sniping.

Rush will be available in public and private matches for practice or to exclusively play with your friends.

Activision's recommendation for this map is to "have all Operators equip the “Double Brush” weapon blueprint, and set the health to its minimum for a true paintball experience..."

Treyarch apparently plans to expand the paintball theme into the rest of the multiplayer experience with a 'Paintball Moshpit' which will include paintball visuals and sound effects that span different maps and modes.

Capture the Flag, a game mode rooted in the very first Call of Duty multiplayer, will also make its debut in Cold War with the classic rules fans are used to.

A dedicated Rush 24/7 will be released mid-season by Treyarch which will be introduced alongside new Weapon Blueprints and Call of Duty League-themed Weapon Charms which players can earn competitively in League Play.

New stickers, Emblems and XP bonuses to unlock when completing milestones will also be introduced.

The prestige shop will also get plenty of new content, including Season 4 Reloaded exclusive Weapon Blueprints, which can be unlocked with Prestige Keys- these are unlocked at every 50 season levels.

New weapons and operator

Two new weapons are coming to Season 4 Reloaded and you don't have to spend a penny to get them, these include a new SMG and melee weapon.

The OTs 9 is a full-auto submachine gun that apparently offers "Impressive firepower at close range with good visibility when firing. Reliable recoil control with smaller magazine size."

Similar to the Bullfrog SMG in terms of damage and fire rate, the OTs 9 will deliver over 100RPM in fire rate but comes with a lesser magazine capacity to balance it out.

This SMG can either be unlocked via in-game challenge or one of its weapon blueprints can be purchased via the Inside Job Store Bundle.

A medieval twist is coming to the melee range of weapons with the introduction of the Mace.

The Mace can bludgeon rivals in one blow in multiplayer or can be used against the undead in Zombies.

Players can obtain the Mace either by completing the in-game challenge or by purchasing one of its weapon blueprints through the Mystic’s Scepter Store Bundle.

Alongside the new weapons, Activision has also announced a new operator - Weaver.

Described by Activision as the "strike team leader," Weaver will become a playable NATO operator in Cold War and Warzone.

Activision states Weaver was: "Raised in America after his mother fled the USSR with him in tow, CIA Clandestine Service Officer Grigori Weaver straddles both sides of the Cold War divide, losing an eye to Kravchenko during a covert mission to steal space-race secrets."

This Operator can be unlocked by purchasing the 'Kremlin's Eye' bundle which comes with a skin based on his original Black Ops character- the bundle also includes three Legendary Weapon Blueprints and a new Finishing Move.

New Warzone content

A new innovation is coming to Call of Duty's battle royale with the first-ever objective-based game mode - Payload.

Activision explains: Payload pits two teams of 20 players against each other in a race against time for crucial intel, as these vehicles carry satellite parts that could help shift the balance of the war between Perseus and NATO."

In this mode, players win by either escorting all the vehicles to the checkpoint if they're on the attacking side or by stopping the vehicles with obstacles and picking off enemies within the time limit if they're on the defending side.

Payload will be featured in the Playlist Rotation during Season 4 Reloaded.

Raven is also planning to introduce a new event Warzone- Blueprint Blitz.

This global event will give players plenty of opportunities to earn Weapon Blueprints they may have missed from previous seasons.

Players can do this by completing Contraband Contracts where an additional contract will be awarded after successfully completing two consecutive contracts.

After completing a Contraband Contract, players will be rewarded with a permanent Weapon Blueprint.

A new mysterious has begun to grip Verdansk as the Red Doors have opened "stepping out into parts unknown."

(Activision)

Not much has been revealed by Raven on what the significance of these doors are.

The Season Four Reloaded update will be available for Black Ops Cold War on July 13 and will be available for Warzone July 14.

The download size will be approximately 11.4-21.3 GB for those who own the full version of Black Ops Cold War, and 8.9-10.4 GB for those who own the free-to-play Warzone and are on the current and latest updates on either or both games.
