Calls have been made to ban people from Skegness beach after pictures of litter strewn across the attraction were posted online.
Papers, beer cans and disposable barbecues were among the items left behind by visitors across several parts of the resort.
The images were shared online by the RNLI East of England, which appealed with people to take their rubbish home, Lincolnshire Live reports.
The organisation wrote on Facebook: "If you’re making the most of this weather at the beach... please take your litter with you!
“There are plenty of bins to choose from.”
The revelations sparked outrage, with many calling on the Government to reintroduce the ban on people visiting the beach.
Janine O’Rourke posted: “Put a ban on people coming. If they are going to treat it like this then they shouldn’t be there anyway.”
Dawna Houghton commented: “Really. Bad enough people went there, let alone leave it covered in their litter.”
Katie Marie added: “Shouldn’t be allowed to visit yet full stop.”
Others were also left furious.
Skegness Official wrote: “Should be ashamed of themselves. Ought to be lucky they are even allowed to the beach and then they feel the need to leave it in this state.”
Lee Pallett commented: “How selfish some people are - makes me so sad to be a part of the human race. The Earth would a much better place without us.”
Karen Marples added: “Disgusting - it makes me so angry. Why don’t people dispose of their rubbish?”
