Call for Gogglebox to drop key feature after Friday's episode

Gogglebox was back on our screens last Friday, with our favourite armchair critics watching Squid Game and The Mating Game.

However, viewers said they wished producers would stop airing one segment of the show.

On Friday's episode, the cast reacted to Andrew Marr's interview with Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

Mr Marr quizzed Mr Johnson on Universal Credit, HGV driver shortages and his recent conference in Manchester.

But some fans said they didn't want to watch politics on Gogglebox, reports BirminghamLive.

David Joseph Lawton commented: "They haven't watched Gordon, Gino and Fred yet on this. I want to see them watching taskmaster, Sick of politics as well"

Farmer Palmer wrote: "Used to occasionally watch gogglebox for a laugh. No more. Not interested in what any of them think about Universal Credit or any politics."

Beckie Miller added: "I wish they wouldn’t put politics on here. This is supposed to be fun"

The show saw Pete fume: “Inflation’s gone through the [bleep] roof, so it costs more to live, but obviously Boris doesn’t see it like that with his £500 a role wallpaper.”

The cast of Gogglebox also watched Squid Game and BBC Strictly Come Dancing.

Other favourites to appear included Ellie Warner and sister Izzy, as well as the Siddiqui family in Derbyshire, and Manchester family the Malones.

Giles and Mary also featured, as did the beloved Jenny and Lee from Hull.
