Call for artists to show work at Calderstones Mansion House

Work by local artists is being displayed in Calderstones Mansion House in a rolling series of exhibitions designed to showcase Merseyside talent.

Displayed in some of the recently refurbished building's public areas - in the reception area, hall, main corridor and shop - the work is available to buy.

Exhibitions last between one and six weeks, showing a maximum of 32 works, and are being run by Liverpool-based independent art gallery dot art, although artists do not need to be a dot-art member to take part.

Artist can now display their work at Calderstones Mansion House (dot-art)

Lucy Byrne, dot-art's managing director, said: "Supporting artists and putting art at the heart of everyday life is at the core of everything we do at dot-art, so we are really excited about offering local artists a beautiful new space to showcase and sell their work as well as giving visitors to Calderstones Mansion the chance to see and buy some amazing art by talented local artists.

"We look forward to hearing from individual artists, artists’ studios and local art groups who would like to exhibit in this stunning location."

Ailsa Horne, director of Calderstones and commercial at The Reader, said: "We're happy to be working with dot art to bring new exhibitions to Calderstones, alongside our existing programme of Shared Reading, wellbeing and artistic activities.

"We at The Reader believe literature has the power to connect individuals, which is something art has been proven to do too."

Details of how to apply to have your work shown in the Mansion House can be found HERE.

dot-art also runs programme of art classes at the building, in Calderstones Park. Further details HERE.
