An Adelaide court has heard prosecutors want a teenager accused of murdering a man in an alleged gang fight tried as an adult.

The 17-year-old Victorian, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been charged with the stabbing murder of Ngor Bol (pictured) last month.

The 25-year-old Victorian man was found with multiple stab wounds on North Terrace, in Adelaide's CBD, with police alleging at the time that it was the result of ongoing fighting between two youth gangs from Adelaide's northern suburbs.

The accused murderer faced the Adelaide Youth Court today, where the police prosecutor said the Director of Public Prosecutions wanted the case moved from the youth court to the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Under the Young Offenders Act, a youth charged with a major indictable case or someone who poses a risk to community safety can be dealt with as an adult.

The matter returns to court next month.

A second Victorian man was charged with murder over Mr Bol's death on Monday.

Thocrial Agoth, 21, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court the same day.

Mr Agoth will remain in custody until his next court appearance in December.

He and the 17-year-old boy were arrested at Adelaide Airport before they could fly back to Melbourne.

Police have arrested a total of 17 people in relation to the incident.
