A burglar who grinned during his police mug shot is at the centre of a manhunt as detectives warned the public to keep their distance.
Police want to trace Dennis Crockett, 21, from Liverpool and put him back behind bars.
But today as part of an appeal for help to trace the burglar, who has links to the West Derby , Old Swan and Fairfield areas, police warned the public not to approach him directly.
Crockett, was released from prison on license on August 30, 2019 after serving part of a 20 month sentence for burglary.
A recall to prison was issued after Crockett breached the conditions of his license.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Members of the public are advised not to approach Crockett directly but to call 999 if they see him. We believe he has the potential for violence."
Crockett is described as a white male, 6ft 1in tall, of heavy build, with short dark curly hair and blue eyes. He speaks with a Liverpool accent."
