Missing Bristol boy, 16, found safe after urgent police appeal

A missing 16-year-old boy has been found after police launched an urgent search.

Avon and Somerset Police shared an appeal on Friday night (June 4) after the Bristol teenager, named only as Joe, went missing.

Officers advised that the Stockwood boy had not been seen or heard from since Tuesday, June 1, and had asked members of the public to call 999 if they saw him.

However, in an update on Saturday morning (June 5), the force confirmed that he has now been located and is safe.

Its statement read: "Missing 16-year-old Joe from Stockwood in Bristol was found by officers last night and he is safe.

"Thank you for sharing our appeal. Your support is appreciated."

In the earlier appeal, Joe's family said it was “out of character” for him not to be in contact.

More information about how to report a missing person can be found on the force's website.

It advises: "There is no time limit on when you can report a missing person or child.

"You do not have to wait 24 hours."
