California wildfires: Lady Gaga surprises evacuation shelter with pizza and coffee

Lady Gaga surprised California fire evacuees after delivering pizzas, coffee and gift cards.

The singer and actress headed to a shelter to visit victims of the raging wildfires which have claimed the lives of 50 people.

Documenting her "act of kindness" on Instagram she told fans: “I'm on my way now to a shelter in California to be with people who have evacuated their homes.

“It's one of my acts of kindness for today and I encourage you to do the same.”

She later shared a snap of herself carrying 11 boxes of pizza, with the caption: “Fresh hot pizza, coffee, and gift cards for the shelter.”

The 32-year-old also posted an image inside the Red Cross centre, adding: “Thank you to the Red Cross for all you are doing to provide shelter, love, and mental health support to the people of California.”

Gaga was among a number of celebrities forced to evacuate their Malibu homes on Friday, after fires spread along the California coast.

At the time, she thanked firefighters for their valiant efforts.

The Always Remember Us singer tweeted: “I’m so grateful I love you and god bless you to all the firefighters and first responders who continue fighting this fire.

“You risk your lives for us, and I’m so humbled by your bravery. You are our heroes. #WoolsleyFire.”

Liam Hemsworth shared a devastating image of the home he shares with fiancée Miley Cyrus on Tuesday which has been reduced to rubble.

The Australian actor encouraged Malibu residents to “stay strong” in the name of community.

Other stars affected include Gerard Butler and Robin Thicke, who was reduced to tears at the remains of his property.

Caitlyn Jenner returned to her home earlier this week after being evacuated and posted a video showing the surrounding scorched hills.
