California man accused of killing wife and her mom now linked to third murder

• Howard Wang, 43, is charged with the murders of his wife Linlin Guo and mother-in-law Beimin Cheng on September 18, 2025, at their Walnut Creek residence.
• Prosecutors now allege Wang also murdered Chengli Li, 41, in Los Angeles County on June 8, 2024, almost a year before the double homicide.
• Li was the romantic partner of Wang's girlfriend, Yan Wang, who is also charged as an accessory after the fact, residential burglary, and destroying evidence in the Walnut Creek case.
• Wang's alleged accomplice in the Li murder, Demarques James Pearl, 33, has also been charged with murder.
• The Los Angeles County murder charge will be combined with the Walnut Creek double murder case for prosecution in Contra Costa County.
