California firefighters win sexual harrasment suit over gay pride parade

Here's something you don't read about every day: Four California firefighters filed suit against their local fire department for ordering them to participate in a gay pride parade. The firefighters won.

A California court ruled on Tuesday that being ordered to take part in the event constituted sexually harassment. Four men drove a fire truck in a 2007 San Diego gay pride parade were awarded a total of $34,300 in damages from the city, including a $100 co-pay for a counseling session for one and $14,200 for another who felt he had to transfer after the incident.

Firefighters who took part in previous parades reported being taunted.
