Firefighters from Weston and Bedminster attended the incident and used high-tech equipment to free the animal.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival, crews used strops and kick boards to free the animal unharmed.

"Once free, the cow was handed to its owner and returned it its herd."
