Caleb Plant has revealed he has reluctantly had his two vaccines against Covid-19 ahead of his undisputed title clash with Canelo Alvarez.
Several fighters have made their opinions on the vaccine known including flyweight world champion Sunny Edwards and undisputed light-welterweight champion Josh Taylor.
Plant is set to face the pound-for-pound king Alvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight title on November 6.
And he said: “You know, no one’s, you know, put a guy to my head and said, ‘You have to sign this for the vaccination,’ or anything like that.
"But, you know, to be honest, not for any political reason, but I haven’t been a big fan of the vaccination.

"But I’m not opposed to people getting the vaccination. You know, but I feel like if you’re healthy and you’re young and you’re strong, like I am, you know, the long-term effects, I’m not exactly sure what they are.
“But I feel like if I got Covid, I could get through it just fine, but I did get the vaccination and I’m vaccinated because I don’t want this moment to slip by.
"And I’ve already sacrificed so much for the sport. Like I talked about, I’m not gonna let something like COVID get in the way of stopping me from obtaining my destiny.”
Several fighters have been hampered directly by the coronavirus pandemic in recent months, with Tyson Fury's huge trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder rescheduled as a result of an outbreak in Fury's training camp ahead of the clash.
The 'Gypsy King' was left 'uncertain' about getting double vaccinated ahead of his proposed bout, due to not wanting to be sidelined by the short-term effects in his training camps.
Conor Benn has also had a fight directly called off as a result of testing positive for Covid-19 ahead of entering the secure 'bubble', and his fight has now been rescheduled for September 4.
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has also addressed the use of vaccination passports in the UK, which are set to come into place in venues later this year, stating that they make him feel 'uncomfortable'.
“Firstly, I’m not comfortable at all with vaccine passports at any level," Hearn told talkSPORT. “Certainly not to get into sporting events because anything that’s gonna make things more difficult for people to come is a new challenge for our business and I don’t feel that it’s right.
“Will it be introduced? We just don’t know, but if it is introduced, it’s something we’ve gotta deal with.
“I don’t believe it’ll be in play for Warrington or AJ, but beyond that– I don’t think they can enforce it personally, but they might say to us, ‘We recommend that you only let people who have been double vaccinated'. But, for me, I’m not a fan."
