Caleb Ekuban 'interests Celtic and Rangers' as Trabzonspor star courted by Premier League club

Celtic and Rangers are among clubs interested in Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban - according to a report in Turkey.

The former Leeds United forward has scored eight goals in 25 appearances for the SuperLig side this season.

He's previously been linked with Premier League club Brighton and Serie A giants Lazio.

Karar report, however, that Ekuban is not currently seeking a move away from Turkey, meaning any potential suitor would be forced to pay up for the Ghanaian.

His contract with Trabzonspor runs until 2022, and some estimates put his value at around €10million.

Ekuban has also spent time with Chievo, being farmed out for loans in the Italian lower leagues and in Albania.

Transfer activity is difficult to predict at this stage as Scottish football awaits clarity on how the season will end.

FIFA have already hinted this summer's transfer window will not follow the traditional format, with several nations worldwide in government-enforced lockdowns to suppress the coronavirus.

But Celtic look to be working hard behind the scenes, amid claims the club are set to appoint former QPR striker Gary Penrice their chief scout.

Penrice has worked with the likes of Leicester City and Everton in scouting and consultancy roles.
