Calais Campbell comes in at No. 54 spot of Top 100 Players of 2019 list

The Jacksonville Jaguars landed their first player on NFL Network’s Top-100 Players of 2019 list in Calais Campbell, who surprisingly came in at the No. 54 spot. Still, it marks his second consecutive year on the countdown after being ranked as the No. 14 player last year.

Campbell, 32, also was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl in 2018 after accumulating 72 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 20 tackles for loss and 22 quarterback hits. As far as his career numbers goes, those figures were good for a high in tackles and TFLs, but for whatever reason, the veteran took a plummet into the 50’s, which is still respectable.

Campbell, who without a doubt will be a team captain in 2019, will be entering his third season with the Jags. However, it looks like he’ll have some added motivation in addition to coming off a five-win season, and at the rate he’s defying age, it wouldn’t be shocking if he had another All-Pro run in him. The Jags will have another pass rusher in first-round pick Josh Allen to make life even easier on Campbell, who has undoubtedly been the best free-agent signing in history.
