CALA Homes to support more than 200 jobs with £40 million development

CALA Homes (West) has begun a 151-home newbuild development in Erskine that will support more than 200 jobs.

The firm - part of CALA Group - is investing £40 million in the mix of private and affordable housing over the next four years at the Renfrewshire site.

Bellway says strong Scottish sales helped fuel 12% rise in revenues

The project will employ 130 workers on site near Florish Road and support 80 jobs indirectly.

An economic impact survey by Lichfields, an industry leading insight provider, calculates that the completed project add £3.7 million a year to the area in gross value and a council tax contribution of £300,000.

CALA is working with the Scottish Government to meet its 50,000 affordable homes target by 2021.

Graham McNeil, land director for CALA Homes (West), said: “Our latest development in Erskine will deliver quality housing while creating a strong community environment and demonstrates a long-term commitment to Renfrewshire. We will continue to work alongside key stakeholders to ensure the development meets the requirements of the local area and the people who live here.

Barratt Developments commits to 3400 new homes across Scotland this year supporting more than 6000 jobs

“As well as delivering much-needed private and affordable housing, CALA’s £40 million investment will create new jobs and unlock additional investment opportunities, which will help drive economic growth in the future.”

CALA is diversifying into smaller houses and across other sites there will be a greater ratio of flats geared towards young professionals and downsizers.
