COLUMBUS, Ohio _ The Islanders locked up Cal Clutterbuck to a five-year extension Friday worth an average of $3.5 million per year.
Clutterbuck has been part of the team's successful fourth line, along with Casey Cizikas and Matt Martin before this season, and Islanders general manager Garth Snow has now gone long term to keep both Clutterbuck and Cizikas in the fold.
Cizikas signed a five-year deal worth $3.35 million per year in June, a month before Martin signed a four-year deal with the Leafs for $2.5 million per year.
Clutterbuck, 29, has two goals and seven assists this season after scoring 15 goals a year ago. He came to the Islanders on draft day in 2013 from the Wild in exchange for Nino Niederreiter.
In 251 games played over three-plus seasons with the Islanders, Clutterbuck has 67 points, including 36 goals.
