Caitlyn Jenner opens up about ‘good guy’ Kanye West during GMB appearance

Caitlyn Jenner has opened up about Kanye West during an interview on Good Morning Britain, singing his praises for being a “good guy”.

The American reality TV star was reunited with her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! pal Kate Garraway, who was hosting the ITV programme with Ben Shephard.

Caitlyn, 70, spoke about her life since the jungle and how coronavirus lockdown had affected her before the subject of her step-daughter Kim Kardashian’s hubby came up.

The rapper, 43, who claims he is running for US president, published a series of tweets, which have since been deleted, leaving many concerned about his marriage and mental health.

Wife Kim, 39, then sent out a plea for “compassion and empathy” from the media and the public, saying that Kanye has bipolar disorder.

During today’s interview, when asked directly by Ben, Caitlyn admitted that she didn’t know whether Kanye was getting help, but added that he has a “good heart” and has supported her in the past.

"Honestly, I don't know,” she replied.

“Since all of this has come down, I've just watched it like everybody else.

“He's living up in Wyoming most of the time. I just wish him the best. I made a joke about being his VP when he announced that [he is running for presidency] but I hope for the best for him. He's a really good guy."

Caitlyn also hailed Kanye as being “supportive” of her over the last five years, when she transitioned from Bruce to Caitlyn.

“The only thing I can really talk about is how he has treated me through everything,” she said.

“He has been the most kind, loving human being and so good to me throughout the years and especially going through everything I have been through in the last five years.

“He has been such a good friend, and that to me is the most important thing.”

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
