Caitlin Clark honored by Iowa’s marching band with cool halftime performance

In case you haven’t heard, the folks in Iowa love Caitlin Clark, the reigning consensus National Player of the Year in women’s college basketball.

Clark wowed fans across the country last season by averaging 27.8 points and 8.6 assists per game, powering the Hawkeyes to their first appearance in the national championship game – where they ran up against Angel Reese and LSU.

Ahead of this upcoming season, Iowa’s women’s basketball team is actually going to play an outdoor scrimmage at the school’s football venue – Kinnick Stadium – against DePaul on Oct. 15. It’ll be on the Big Ten Network and more than 36,000 tickets have already been sold for what’s being called “The Crossover at Kinnick.”

On Saturday during halftime of Iowa’s football team’s win over Western Michigan, the Hawkeyes’ marching band gave folks a preview of what that game at Kinnick might look like.

In short: It’ll feature Clark putting the ball in the basket a whole lot.

Kinnick Stadium won’t be the only big stage that Clark and Iowa play on this season. Iowa’s second game is a neutral site clash in Charlotte against fellow Final Four team Virginia Tech.
