Cairngorm mountains manhunt launched to trace missing English man

An urgent police appeal has been launched to help trace a man missing in the Cairngorms .

Officers are anxious to track down 46-year-old Andrew Moorhouse, from Sheffield, who arrived in Aviemore late Saturday evening.

He was last seen walking alone on forest paths between Aviemore/Coylumbridge and the Cairngorm mountains.

The Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team have been drafted in to help with the search-efforts .

Andrew is described as 5ft9inches tall, stocky build with red/greying short hair.

He was last seen dressed in outdoor clothing and carrying a backpack. He speaks with an English accent.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are urging anyone in the area - particularly walkers and cyclists in rural locations - to keep a look out for a male matching Andrew's description and to report any sightings via 101.:"

Similarly anyone with any information that could assist officers in tracing Andrew are urged to contact police quoting "Storm" incident 5422 of June 15.
