Children’s TV show Caillou has been taken off the air in the US – and parents couldn’t be happier.

The PBS Kids series first premiered in September 2000. It follows a whiny young boy and his family.

During its time on the air, parents have complained that the lead character was teaching their children bad manners. It’s commonly believed that the show fails to indicate how naughty children should be punished.

Caillou originally ran for five seasons and has been syndicated in the US since 2010.

Following the announcement that Caillou would no longer be shown, many expressed their happiness on social media.

“Everyone is thrilled that Caillou got canceled,” one person wrote, adding: “I haven’t seen this many people happy since Trump lost the election.”

Another added: “It’s about time! I never allowed my kids to watch that whiny, bratty kid.”

Caillou’s reign of terror is over!!” one ecstatic person wrote, with another calling him a “little brat”.
