Caged animals found living in 'terrible' conditions inside house

A search of a house revealed animals living in what were described as "terrible" conditions.

A joint raid by police and the RSPCA found the animals living in tiny, stacked cages at the property, reported Lancs Live.

Officers rescued dogs, guinea pigs and ducks when they executed a warrant at the address in Scarisbrick, West Lancashire, on Monday, March 15.

Police said the animals were being kept in "terrible" conditions and were surrendered by their owner to be re-homed.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: "We joined police who were executing a warrant at a home in the Ormskirk area on Monday 15 March.

"A number of animals were signed over and work with the owner is ongoing."
