Cage Warriors 110: West Belfast MMA fighter Ciaran Mulholland set for pro debut

West Belfast MMA fighter Ciaran Mulholland will make his professional Cage Warriors debut next month.

The Cork Neptune Stadium is the venue for a big night of fights on Saturday, November 9.

The Cage Warriors 110 card will be headlined by Ballymena's Rhys McKee, but it will also be a special night for rising talent Mulholland.

The 22-year-old has landed a five-fight deal with the promotional company over the next 18 months.

And it will begin with next month's bantamweight showdown with Nathan Fletcher in the Rebel County.

"I am delighted to be signed up to Cage Warriors," Mulholland said.

"Cage Warriors promotions is fantastic and this is a great platform for me to go out and show what I can do.

"I hold two Cage Warriors Academy titles and now I want to progress on and win more senior titles.

"Cage Warriors is the number one promotional company in Europe so I am in the right place to develop my career, and hopefully one day move onto the UFC."

Mulholland admits his long-term aim is to one day reach the UFC.

But he accepts he has a long way to go before progressing to the Ultimate Fighting Championship ranks.

"Cage Warriors has proved a great way to move into the UFC which is where every MMA fighter wants to be," Mulholland added.

"There have been over 90 fighters to come out of Cage Warriors to sign for the UFC, and that's where my big ambition is.

"I know it won't be easy, but if I can get in contention to fight for a Cage Warriors world title, then it opens up the possibility of signing for the UFC.

"If I can win four of my fights and contest a world title in my fifth or even sixth fight, then big opportunities open up.

"But I can't wish my career away. I have to win my next fight and that has to be my sole focus right now. Which it is.

"I am jumping into a tough fight straight off against a tough opponent in Fletcher. He has a good amateur pedigree.

"But this is my moment. The bantamweight division is hot right now, and I am ready to prove I am the best out there.

"So November 9 can't come soon enough."
