Cafe in the centre of popular Cardiff park is seeking a new tenant

A cafe in a popular park in Cardiff city centre is available to rent.

The Summerhouse Café is situated within Bute Park, next door to Cardiff City Centre and Cardiff Castle.

The park, which has numerous pedestrian access points, including Castle Street and Sophia Gardens, is adjacent to the River Taff and a few hundred yards from the National Express Cardiff bus station, Swalec Stadium and Sport Wales National Centre.

The property is being marketed for Cardiff Council by Fletcher Morgan.

Matthew Jones from the commercial property firm said: "The Council are looking for a new tenant to continue trading it as the Summerhouse Café offering food and coffee options for consumption in the large outside seating area or to takeaway.

"We think this is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the increased footfall through Bute Park.

"The large outside seating area is beneficial in this difficult times with customers still nervous about dining indoors."

Fletcher Morgan expects to secure a tenant to begin trading in spring 2021.

The Council hopes to attract a local Welsh coffee business to provide good quality produce and service to the park visitors.

The property is a self-contained café, with a kitchen/prep area that has a hatch to serve customers. Externally, there is a patio area which can accommodate tables and chairs. There are also two DDA compliant toilets.

There are no rates on the property and rent is £26,000.
