Café in Bristol city centre closes after 10 years

The landlord of a listed building in Bristol city centre is on the lookout for new tenants after the closure of the long-running café it was previously home to.

Siam Angel in St George's Road closed just before the lockdown was announced, after the couple who managed it moved to Thailand.

Now, with the hospitality and retail industries returning, building landlord Benn Brennan is searching for new people to take on the lease.

"It's in a fantastic central location right next to the council offices with plenty of footfall," said Benn, whose parents used to live in the building.

"Siam Angel did a roaring trade but the owners decided to move back to Thailand just before lockdown was announced to pursue new ventures.

"Whoever takes on the lease doesn't have to run it as a café if they don't want to; they could open a shop, restaurant or nail bar.

"I'm open to suggestions and looking forward to hearing from people."

Siam Angel had a rating of five out of five on TripAdvisor from 30 reviews, with one person claiming it "serves one of the best breakfasts in Bristol".

Lots of people praised its "amazing" food served at reasonable prices, as well as the "fantastic" service.
