Café announces sad closure due to cost of living and 'everything else spiralling out of control'

A popular café has announced its 'sadness' at having to close suddenly. The Eagles Nest Cafe at Eagley sports complex in Bolton posted today blaming the cost of living crisis with many expressing their disappointment.

Owner Paula said said the cost of living crisis coupled with 'everything else spiralling out of my control' meant the cafe could not continue to operate. She said they would be closing this Friday (April 21) after nearly two-years.

The café posted: "It’s with great sadness that I have to announce the closing of the Café at 3pm on Friday 21st April for good! With the current cost of living situation and everything else spiralling out of my control it’s become unfeasible for me to continue.

"I would like to thank all my great staff and lovely customers for all your support, following and friendship. Please keep in touch and I will still be supplying cakes if anyone needs any."

The café is very popular with dogwalkers and locals alike with many expressing their sadness in the comments.

One said: "Aww how sad, such a shame after all you’ve put in! It’s perfectly understandable though, foodstuff is just ridiculously expensive isn’t it?? Good luck for the future."

Another said: "Sorry to hear this but totally understand with the cost of living rises etc. Such a lovely, warm friendly atmosphere with amazing staff and food. You will be sadly missed by all."

"Absolutely gutted to hear this, fab little cafe with amazing food & amazing friendly staff! You’re all gonna be hugely missed," another added.
