Cadillac Will Hand-Paint Your Blackwing a Custom Color—But It'll Cost You

Luxury-car buyers want something unique. It’s not just enough to have a fancy car—you need a fancy car that’s unlike the one your neighbor’s got. This has proven to be great business for a bunch of carmakers, and Cadillac is getting in on the game. It just announced Curated by Cadillac, a program for CT5-V Blackwing buyers who want something even more special.

The Curated by Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is hand-built at the same “Artisan Center” in Warren, Michigan as the $350,000 Celestiq, though in a different area of the facility. Buyers have a choice of 160 colors, both gloss and matte “frost” finishes that workers in Warren apply by hand. The car also gets new color and trim options, with Cadillac touting “millions” of different combinations.

Like with the Celestiq, each Curated by Cadillac customer will be paired with a concierge who will help them with color and trim choices. Cadillac says its concierges all have design backgrounds, so they’ll help you come up with the best specification possible.

Mechanically, the CT5-V Blackwing is unchanged, which is a good thing as it’s the best super sedan on sale today. Buyers still get a choice of six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic, and if they can, it is the official opinion of Motor1 that they go three-pedal.

Cadillac says this program is only available for an “extremely limited” number of cars, about 50 for the US and Canada in 2026, and the starting price is $158,000. A hefty upcharge over the $101,820 for the “standard” Blackwing, but that’s the price you pay for having a car you surely won’t see another of.
