Cadillac F1 team reveals special Miami GP livery

The Cadillac Formula 1 team has revealed a special livery for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix – its first race event on home soil.

Cadillac is making its world championship debut this year, with a highest finish of 13th over the opening three rounds – Valtteri Bottas achieved that result in China.

The team’s maiden car, named MAC-26 as a tribute to American motorsport icon Mario Andretti, usually sports a dual black-and-white livery, which was unveiled in an approximately $20m advertisement at this year’s Super Bowl.

Cadillac has now revealed a new design for the Floridian contest, incorporating the stars and stripes of the United States flag.

The rear wing features an unusually colourful touch, with the ‘USA’ acronym amid the slightest touch of the country’s red, white and blue.

“The Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s special Miami Grand Prix livery is a natural extension and speaks without excess. It's deliberate and confident,” said chief brand advisor Cassidy Towriss. “This is our first home race, and it mattered to us that fans still recognize what they've come to know. I can’t wait for the crowd to see it on track for the first time. There's no place like home.”

The best Miami Grand Prix result by an American car so far is Kevin Magnussen’s 10th place for Haas in 2023, after the Dane qualified fourth but dropped down the order in the race.
