Cadbury urgently recalls chocolates and warns people not to eat them

Bags of chocolate are being recalled over concerns they have been accidentally filled with sweets that contain nuts.

Nut allergy sufferers are being urged not to eat Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Robins because some packs contain almonds, which have not been declared on the label.

The product has been incorrectly packed with the Daim version of them same chocolate – meaning the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.

The chocolate giant has moved to withdraw the items from shelves across supermarkets, newsagents and convenience stores, reports Manchester Live .

The recall applies to 93g bags with a best before date of 31 March 2020.

The manufacturer has warned that the mistake might not be immediately obvious because both products are wrapped in similar foil.

Any customer who has bought the product and has a nut allergy is advised not to eat it, and to return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, or to contact the Mondelez consumer care line on 0800 818181.

No other Cadbury products are affected.
