Cadbury says we've been eating chocolate wrong for years

When you tuck into that chocolate this evening, take a moment to think about whether you're doing it....correctly.

Because according to Cadbury, there may be a problem, and it's been going on for years.

It says many of us have been storing its beloved products wrongly all that time.

The chocolate maker, which is a regular fixture in any convenience store, supermarket or corner shop, has some advice for us, Birmingham Live reports.

Namely: stop storing its iconic products in the fridge.

If you’re partial to sticking a Milk Tray or a Creme Egg in the fridge when you buy it, well, the company has some stern words for you.

You see, some like their chocolate to have a good snap, meaning refrigeration is key - but Cadbury reckon it is best stored in a cool place. This does not mean your fridge.

So, is it fridge or cupboard? What do you think?

Keep it housed in a cupboard, away from sunlight, for a smoother and meltier texture, the company advises.

Cadbury used its Twitter account to confirm whether its punters should be keeping bars in a fridge or a cupboard, telling a curious social media user: “Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn’t compromised.”

Cadbury’s confirmation left many shocked, with many admitting they had been eating chocolate wrong for years and years.

It’s not too late to change, though.
