Cadbury's latest chocolate announcement has left shoppers shocked

In life, there are many topics which will forever divide people.

'What came first - the chicken or the egg?' 'Should you put jam or cream on a scone first?' 'Is it a bap, a roll or a barm?'

Another of those crowd-dividing topics is where chocolate should be stored - but this one finally has an answer.

While some of us keep it in the fridge to ensure that it's deliciously cold and crisp when we bite into it, other people prefer it semi-melted at room temperature.

However, according to Cadbury, if you prefer the latter, you're actually right.

Setting the record straight, Cadbury explained: "Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn't compromised."

Well, that clears that up, but I'll still be keeping mine in the fridge. Sorry, Cadbury.
