Cadbury parent company Mondelez recruiting for chocolate tasters – how you can apply

It might sound like something out of a Roald Dahl book, but you can now apply to be a professional chocolate taster.

Cadbury owner Mondelēz International is recruiting for four chocolate tasters to sample products before they go arrive in shops.

Mondelēz owns several popular confectionery brands, including Milka, Oreo and Green & Blacks, meaning successful applicants will be able to test a whole host of cocoa-based delicacies.

“Our Chocolate Tasters are key in helping Mondelēz perfect and launch an entirely new product all over the world by tasting and providing feedback just like our consumers,” the job advertisement, as posted on LinkedIn, reads.

“You will work alongside approximately 11 Chocolate Tasters and a panel leader; sharing opinions and collaborating with others to reach an agreement on taste.”

Each of the roles are part-time so as not to leave workers with “palate fatigue”, the job description adds.

It also states that no experience of chocolate tasting is required for any of the roles, as full training will be provided “to develop your taste buds”.

Applicants will also be taught about the specific vocabulary required to eloquently communicate their opinions in the products.

Successful applicants will be based at Mondelēz International’s Global Research Centre in Wokingham, Berkshire and will be paid £10.75 an hour.
