Cadbury explains whether chocolate should be kept in the cupboard or fridge

For as long as any of us can remember there has been a divide between those that store their chocolate in the fridge and those that keep it in the cupboard.

Some will say eating chocolate cold from the fridge is the only way to consume it, while others would argue it's best straight from the cupboard.

However, the debate appears to have been officially settled by Cadbury themselves after they were asked the question directly on social media.

And we're afraid to say it's not good news for those who store it in the fridge.

Cadbury explained: "Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn't compromised."

Their answer was in response to a Twitter user named Bruno who created a "definitive" list of what belongs in the fridge and what should be stored in the cupboard.

Among pantry items sat a Dairy Milk chocolate bar and a caption that read: "The 100 percent accurate and definitive list of what does and does NOT go in the fridge.

"Don't bother commenting, this isn't up for discussion."

He then asked Cadbury: "Yo @CadburyAU... what’s the definitive ruling on chocolate storage? Fridge or room temp?"

Despite Cadbury's response many social media users still disagreed.

"I'm sorry, but cold hard chocolate is elite. Won't hear otherwise."

"I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree," another added.
